Anthony Zoccali has been involved in photography for over 14 years, initially drawn by the beautiful Big Sur seascapes. He focused his lens on the arresting surroundings with an inquisitive and dramatic eye, discovering the simplicity and beauty of the local coast. A friends request to photograph her wedding sparked a realization that the energy of wedding portraiture was much more interesting and fascinating then expected. It is a welcomed challenge to capture the right pose, mood or expression; but with hard work, experience and diligence, those especially distinctive photos are there for the taking.

Formally launched in 2003, Anthony Zoccali Photography merges the traditional with the evocative to create a unique style of wedding photography. While being as unobtrusive as possible, we focus on the interactions of the bride and groom, that intimate conversation, hugs, kisses & festive moments with each other, their families and friends.

We like to call these “Active Portraits”. NOT just a snapshot, but a well positioned and anticipated photo. These "Active Portraits" convey the mood of the moment, capture a special meeting between friends, show a smile or tear & communicate the emotional story of that wonderful day.
